Nochevieja (New Year's Eve) - December 31st:
¡Feliz Año nuevo!/Happy New year .
Now, this saying is tricky one, notice how the “ñ” in “año” sounds, try to pronounce it with your nose, so it sounds like:
“anyo”
Otherwise you’ll be walking around wishing everybody a brand new BH.
In the latino world, we love to go out with a bang, and this being the end of the year, we got to make it count.
The general rule of thumb entails:
Whatever you are found doing at exactly midnight, is how you will spend most of the new Year.
Some of us like to get some cash out, and start counting it at midnight, so we can have more money in this new year.
Some of us will take the suitcases out, and go for a walk at exactly midnight, this is a lot more powerful if you yell your dream destination as you go around the block:
@stwegsy Hágase señor,su voluntad.

We also have the hopeful girl, who wishes to meet the love of her life in the coming year, So when the bells ring at midnight, you can find her hiding under the table.
(I’ve been told this method is fail proof).
@conadeaventura Feliz año mi genteeee 🇨🇴 #felizañonuevo #añonuevo #colombianadas #colombia Feliz año nuevo

All of these and upcoming tiktoks will be shared from our account at:
@the.spanish.update
And of course we have the usual 12 grapes at midnight, some families like to bathe them in alcohol first, so, if you are driving it may be a good idea to ask:
Does this have alcohol?
If you are celebrating in a town close to the ocean, you may get invited to a “chapuzon”/ a dive in at midnight.
We also saved the best for last.The amazing power of the right underwear at midnight:
Red for love.
Yellow for money.
White for good health.
We are positive you will have a great time, take good care of yourself and let us know how it went!
